Handling
[redigera | redigera wikitext]Erik har arbetat som polis i Stockholm i många år. Efter ett skottdrama söker han en ny tjänst i Norrbotten där han är uppvuxen. Mycket har hänt medan han varit borta, och Eriks tuffa polisattityd passar inte längre in i ett samhälle som styrs av oskrivna lagar.
Erik börjar nysta i de fall av tjuvjakt på älg och ren som har pågått under en längre tid och som har nonchalerats av den lokala poliskåren. Det visar sig snart att Eriks egen bror är inblandad, och härvan får allt större proportioner.
Produktion
[redigera | redigera wikitext]Filmen inspirerades av ett verkligt fall av organiserad tjuvjakt i Norrbotten, den så kallade Kalixhärvan. Inför filmen tog Sundvall kontakt med den i jakt- och hothärvan utpekade Harald Holmqvist för att samla material till filmen.[3]
Tanken med att förlägga inspelningarna till Älvsbyn var att man tänkte använda järnvägsstationen i en nyckelscen i filmen. Den

The Hunters (Swedish: Jägarna) is a Swedish thriller film directed by Kjell Sundvall, which was released to cinemas in Sweden on 31 January [2] A police officer from Stockholm moves back to his hometown Älvsbyn in Norrland, in northern Sweden. He starts to work on a long-running reindeer poaching case and soon discovers that his brother is involved.
The film was one of the biggest Swedish box-office hits ever, grossing over $6 million,[1] and received two Guldbagge Awards for Best Direction (Kjell Sundvall) and Best Supporting Actor (Lennart Jähkel). It was also nominated for Best Actor (Rolf Lassgård), Best Cinematography and Best Screenplay.
Hollywood wanted to make a remake of this film, and the American producers wanted it to be about cowboys in the Nevada desert, shooting wild horses for fun. Kjell Sundvall agreed to this at first but later changed his mind.
