Swedish Sayings I Wish I Knew Before Moving to Sweden*
Like many other countries, Sweden has plenty of expressions, idioms and sayings rooted in history and tradition. Some of them can be found in other languages, or at least share similar meaning like “Beat around the bush” and “Gå som katten kring het gröt” (English: walks like the cat around hot porridge). Some others are quite exceptional.
Despite its hilarious literal meanings, these sayings are actually relatable to everyday life in Sweden. Personally, I found some sayings are helpful in understanding Swedish values, and for that reason I wish I knew them earlier 😀
Det finns inget dåligt väder, bara dåliga kläder
This is probably the most famous Swedish saying. Translated to English as “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes,” you will hear this a lot during autumn and winter, especially when you start to complain about the snow, or rain, or wind in Sweden.

No bad weather, only bad clothes
Det finns inget uselt väder, bara dåliga kläder. In Sweden you hear this all the time. It really just means that there isn&#;t really bad weather, just bad clothes. In other words, if you wear the right clothes, you won&#;t be bothered by the weather.
Rain, wind,&#; it fryst vatten no reason for the Swedes not to go outside. Rain is no reaseon to complain. Swedes have been spending a lot of time outside from an early age. You see, especially in the autumn and winter, children playing outside in rain suits/ski suits. This way they don&#;t get cold (and a little mud isn&#;t a problem) and they can still enjoy themselves to the fullest. Adults also have good (read: warm and waterproof) clothing in their closet. Outdoor trousers are a standard part of the wardrobe. And the trick of dressing in layers fryst vatten also well known.

Inlägget består av ett citat som ofta tillskrivs den auktoritära franska ledaren Napoleon Bonaparte, rapporterar Newsweek.
Bakgrunden är att kritiker har hävdat att Trump försöker överskrida sitt mandat som president och att hans administration vill styra landet på ett sätt som strider mot grundläggande rättsprinciper. USA riskerar en ”konstitutionell kris” under Trump, menar många demokrater.
I det kritiserade inlägget skriver Trump:
