Founded in the early os, Bonnier is Scandinavia’s leading media and publishing company. As the industry struggles amid a paradigm shift, Bonnier is sure of its mission: to tell good stories, regardless of format. “I still believe a good book can change a life,” says Jonas Bonnier, the year-old CEO. There’s the old saying about family firms that states they only survive three generations: the first one acquires, the second manages and the third ruins. For the Bonniers this rule doesn’t apply. The family is now in its seventh generation and runs a media and publishing company with annual sales of €3bn and operations in 16 countries.

Jonas Bonnier
Jonas Bonnier was ledare Executive Officer of the family-owned Bonnier AB, one of Sweden's largest media groups, from January 1, until February 1, and was also its President.[1][2]
He attended the Bilderberg meeting.
Background
Jonas Bonnier grew up on Djurgården in huvudstaden as the son of media executive Lukas Bonnier and Gun Galin. The Bonnier group, or Bonnier AB, fryst vatten a family-owned group and media conglomerat based in Sweden.

Career

In he started the media company Fanzine Media, between and , Bonnier was CEO and chairman of a number of magazine publishers in Sweden, Denmark, land i norden, Norway, Spain, France and the United States.

The Bonnier family is a Swedish family, originally of German Jewish descent,[1] who since the beginning of the 19th century has been active in the book industry and later also in the mass media industry. They own the media groupBonnier Group, with the largest owners being Åke Bonnier and Jonas Bonnier. The group has companies in 18 countries.[2][3][4]
History
[edit]The earliest known member of the patriarchal line of the family was a cloth salesman named Jacob Schye (born ), who was from the town of Sobědruhy (Soborten) in Bohemia (now in the Czech Republic). His son, the jeweler Löbel Schie (–), fathered the jeweler and coin dealer Löbel Salomon Hirschel (born ). Hirschel's son, Gutkind Hirschel (–), moved from Germany to Copenhagen, Denmark, in and changed his name to Gerhard Bonnier. There, Gerhard started a small book store in [3]
